Hicks Mill Self Catering Holiday Cottages
Our two beautifully presented, adjoining self catering holiday cottages (sleeping a total of 7, 4+3) form part of a 17th Century Water Mill near Truro and are the perfect place for adults to relax in a lovely central quiet countryside location, so peaceful you won't want to leave. Both cottages have individual secure Wi-fi.
The perfect base for your holiday
Our 350 year old historic Water Mill in Bissoe, on the edge of Perranwell Station, lies equi-distant between Falmouth and the Cathedral City of Truro, with its ample shops, theatre, restaurants and supermarkets. With the north and south coasts only a short drive away, this is an ideal base to visit all the wonderful attractions Cornwall has to offer. The holiday cottages are only 10 minutes to the tin mines of Poldark country on the north coast.
Walking and Cycling Trails
For walkers, there are some beautiful coastal paths close by and with the Coast to Coast Cycle trail only 200yds away, if you're a cycling enthusiast, then this is for you! Bring your cycles with you or (cycle hire available in the village). If that's not enough, there's also the famous Camel Trail only 30 mins away!
Beautiful Cornish Gardens
For garden lovers, close by we have Trelissick, Trebah, Glendurgan, Lost Gardens of Heligan and of course The Eden Project all within a short drive.
Beaches and Water Sports
With the King Harry Ferry only 5 mins away, the 'gateway to the Roseland Peninsula' is on your doorstep! There's also sailing and fishing on the Fal Estuary, explore the inlets by canoe from Loe Beach, www.loebeach.co.uk, plus many more beautiful beaches to explore!
Dining Out and Special Occasions
For those special birthdays and anniversaries, why not hire a Morgan Sports Car in the nearby village of Perranwell Station where you will also find the best local pub The Royal Oak. Suzy and Alan Maxted offer a warm welcome at the start of your holiday with Cornish Cream Tea, wine chocolates laid out to greet you for your stay at Hicks Mill Cottages. Our luxury self catering cottages are in a courtyard setting and in a spectacular location nestling at the bottom of a peaceful rural valley in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the perfect place to unwind on your vacation.
Each cottage has its own garden so guests can enjoy the Cornish sunshine and there's ample parking on site. The Stables are ideal for those with slight mobility issues and parking directly outside the cottage - we will do our best to cater for your needs.

Once you've unpacked, put your feet up and chill out with a glass of wine on the terrace and watch the buzzards circle above - perfect!!
As we focus mainly on catering for adults (sorry no children under 10, or pets) and The Old Mill is also our home, we're always on hand to offer help and advice to enable your holiday to run smoothly.

In the Winter Season (Oct to end of March), we offer short breaks - choose any days of the week. Cream tea and bottle of wine included. Min stay 4 nights.
